Faith, it’s something that you have, or something that you don’t. Is it truly that simple? Are life’s major questions, so simple that they can be broken down such as this. The truth is, no they cannot. As much as we want to believe that our lives are simple, they aren’t. In fact, they are quite complex with a variety of parts interacting. Faith is another piece of life’s complexity. Through faith, we discover hope. Through hope, we define purpose. Once again, this is an oversimplification of life. But it is what I have.

Back to faith, it is one of the cornerstones of my foundation. Without my faith, I am lost. There is so much more to faith, than religion. Faith can be as simple as believing someone will accomplish the goal set before them. Or it can be belief in God. Either way, it creates hope. Hope is something that we all need.

In my deepest, darkest nights, it was my faith and the people that had faith in me, that got me through the night. Faith created hope, so I could continue. Faith, such a complex idea, creates hope. Who are we to deny hope.
