Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

Robert Louis Stevenson

In the 21st century society worries so much about instantaneous results that we miss the trees for the forest. Life is lived with the expectation of a return in the short term. Today’s technology provides the expectation that people are always available and able to respond. We expect the instant gratification. We make a purchase and expect it delivered to our doorstep the next day, or at least within two days. Materialism rules.

Are materialistic goals what should rule our lives? Would we be better of living for long term goals? Should life’s purpose be leaving a legacy? What would make a better world?
