The peace of early morning holds me
As if it is the embraces of a love long forgotten.
The comfort of a lover given to an exhausted mind
Allowing but a brief moment of respite,
From the constant cacophony of the world.
The world blares loudly es the sun peaks above the horizon.
Storm clouds gather demanding attention from those in the path.
The noise of the storm pounds my body
Like a deluge in the desert,
Creating flash floods of information that race by.
Reaching to grasp the debris of information
The detritus pools in spots allowing us
To wade to find the battered box of responsibilities.
Like the rain, the noise relents and ends as
The sun, long past its zenith sinks toward the horizon
The loving arms of my long lost lover
Reach to hold me in her sweet embrace
Allowing me to sleep and wake
Safely in her arms.
